christmas feasting
december 24, the group rested. that night, everyone gathered for christmas eve feasting. peter made dessert–chocolate mousse and apple upside down cake. we drank and ate and laughed and talked and made very, very merry.

when the bamboo moves, it fills the space beautifully, elegantly, delicately even. the all too primative nuts and bolts that hold the forms together give way to line, vertical against the sky. in that moment, something pure reveals itself to be already present.

fishing
Sometimes photography is like fishing. I like to hang my camera down at arms length and click without looking in the direction of the lens. At the end of the day I’ll haul in the net and see what I’ve caught. This was one of those moments from the field. Eugene, Milou and Yang Qian.

Yum
Set up the sound system for the first time yesterday and things are working to plan. Although my midi controller mysteriously stopped functioning, so it’s back to mouse control.
Just had time to jump in a taxi and go evening shopping down town. I bought 7 pairs of stretchy 1 size fits all underwear and a Chairman Mao solar powered keyring which flashes his illustrious face on and off forever.
The underwear all turned out to be just too small, and Mao takes some time to get going after being kept in my trouser pocket ( where- yes you guessed it - it’s dark ) . Oh well, how about some snakes, bugs and penises?
